We called Sewer Rat because they were the only ones who properly helped us the last time we had a clog this bad in 2008. This time, Mike snaked from the kitchen all the way across the house to where the drain opened up into a larger pipe near the bathroom. I think that’s 30 to 40 feet, if not more. He said he cleared 3 clogs. I’m glad I called this guy. In 2008 I had to call 3 plumbers because it would clog again after they snaked the drain and left, and then they blamed me instead of finding the real problem. With Sewer Rat I’m confident it is fixed the first time around.

Recommended with reservations: The downstairs shower stall was backing up and Sewer Rat's technician decided to auger in from the outside cleanout. After more than an hour of unsuccessful effort, he switched to augering from the upstairs shower drain, which also failed to work at first because his rotor line turned in the wrong direction. After several hours, he found and removed the problem--simply a clump of hair in the drain. We got charged for all the false starts, but I give him points for perseverance.

This company seems very disorganized. When arranging the job I got phone calls from different people within the company asking for documents I had already submitted or setting a schedule that had already been set. The worker who did the job, replacing 30 feet of a sewer line, was not the same person I had spoken with and walked through the job the prior day. He had to work alone and took no break for lunch. He had no help. I was told that the job would be about 1/2 day. The worker told me he had to leave without finishing and would have to come back another day. I had to call his supervisor who was 30 miles away. He finally arranged for workers to come out and finish up. The next day, the supervisor came out to inspect and found that another pipe had cracked during the replacement process. Said it wasn't their fault because the pipe was old. I cannot recommend them.
