Mike (I believe the owner) is not truthful with his telephone quotes. We needed 2 rooms (475 square feet) of 8 month old carpet cleaned for a San Francisco 15th floor apartment located right off the elevator. Mike quoted $250 to my mother, $200 to my sister, and $168 to me for the same type of work (just plain old carpet cleaning--no extras.) When the tech arrived, after he rolled in the equipment, I asked him for a firm price. Though he admitted the carpet was in very good condition, he quoted a price of $270. Included in the price was a "cartridge fee" of $50 for bringing the equipment up the elevator. The tech also stated because he was allowed to park his van in the garage without cost, the parking fee of $50 was being waived. What's of concern is that neither of these fees were mentioned to any of us when we obtained quotes from Mike. I indicated to the tech that I was willing to pay $200, what I believed was more than a fair price, for the service. The tech called Mike and told him I was not willing to pay the $270. Mike told him to leave. I then called Mike, wanting to ask whether he would agree to the $200 he quoted my sister; after the answering service transferred me, he didn't even allow me to say hello. He immediately began speaking and after 15 seconds or so, before I could say anything, he said "have a good day. Don't call me again" and hung up. I have no intention of calling this company again because of rudeness, lack of willingness to disclose all charges on phone quotes, and for not honoring phone quotes.
