Worth the subway ride to get to them.

The staff are friendly and courteous and freely offer ideas and suggestions. As it turned out, I couldn't find the exact frames I was looking for, so I decided to keep my old ones and just update the eyeglass prescriptions. They called me to tell me my glasses were ready sooner than I expected and when I went to pick them up, I had to wait only a very short time. Not unexpectedly, it took a second visit to get the vertical alignment of the bifocals just right. All it needed was a little adjustment to the nose pads. I did find a tiny nick off to the side of one of the lenses, which I suspect was because the frames were older and more difficult to work with. Nevertheless, it was not in my field of vision and has caused me absolutely no trouble at all.

Located in Washington Hospital Center. Highly professional staff, very knowledgeable. Prices higher than the discount outlets, but one can be sure that the blank size is appropriate, and the Rx followed correctly (not my experience in the past with various DC and Phila area discounters).
