1. His men knocked the corner off of one of the cement pads that constitute my front walk, which was next to a driveway that he repaved. I showed it to him the next day, and he denied his men did it. Two days after that, I found the missing piece behind a rose bush in the garden next to the front walk. I have saved it as evidence. After breaking off that corner, his men merely slapped some cement over that corner. It did not last the winter. It has broken off.
2. His men paved the driveway, so that the end of the driveway is not a straight line. It looks like someone just threw some blacktop down and let it spread in a convoluted shape and just left it that way.
3. Water puddles along the right edge of the driveway. It can seen, because of the sandy residue left on the driveway once the water has dried.
4. His men ripped out an ancient large rosebush which has been at the side of the driveway for the 44 years that I have owned the house, and paved over where it had been. We loved it and cherished it. He said he would replace that rosebush I wrote him that I would buy it from a nursery at his suggestion in the Spring, and asked him to confirm that he would reimburse me. I also asked him to confirm that, in the spring he would cut out a portion of the blacktop to match the one his men covered up, so that the new rosebush could be planted.He never responded.
I had to communicate with him by mail, because he had refused to call me on the telephone in response to my many voicemail and text messages requesting him to call. He did not respond to either of the two letters I sent to him asking him to remedy the mistakes made by his men.
The man can not be trusted to either do then job correctly, or to honor his written guarantees or promises.Joe Lamacchia is a horrible man. I have done business with thousands of people in my 73 years, and he is among the very worst. He does sloppy work and does not honor his "guarantee" or his word.
