I had them do stonework - build a new front walk and a rear deck - which were great but replacing the lawns and gardens was a disaster. They buried stones formerly used in the front of the yard between the lawn and the garden area barely below the surface of the new lawn so they cropped up or totally blocked replanted grassy areas. The loam that was put down was barely 1/4" deep and there were many places where the grass didn't grow at all. It was a very expensive, very disappointing experience, one I wasn't equipped to deal with adequately because of health issues I had at the time the work was done.
