I have been a loyal customer of this company for many years but I am letting them go. They tried to sell me a new and lower quality ac system telling me I had a leak and that my old unit was not worth repairing. I got a second opinion. Turned out all I needed was a simple inexpensive part. Earlier this year they wanted to charge me over $1000 to replace an air scoop on my boiler. This is an inexpensive part that threads in. Over the years I have had many good experiences with this company but now I feel I can no longer trust them.

Technician didn’t do a complete job as I compared his work by others from the company. He left the hose outside on the walkway and there wasn’t evidence that he used the hose to clean the coils on the outside unit. He was asked if the filter needed changing and he replied”No”. When asked to check the filter, it was clearly in need if changing. Very poor workmanship.

Boiler would not fire up so I called the professionals. They had done a new install for me years ago at another location. They answered the phone promptly and had a service slot available the next day. The morning window was quite wide but I needed the service so we set it up. Telephone person was clear on the labor rate starting @ $95 for the first 15 minutes with increments thereafter. The technician showed up after calling that he was on his way a little past the middle of the window. He was prepared to go to work immediately. He performed the usual circuit tests and after $195 on the clock he concluded the boiler needed a new pilot control. He had to go buy it as it was not on the truck and reported he could get it for like 750 but could discount it to 600 something including installation the next day. I foolishly agreed and later learned the part is available online for $123 and change. I felt I had been gouged but I needed the work done so I foolishly went along. Momentum won. Part and labor that should not have been more than 300 was marked up 100%. Turns out the thermostat was bad too. They wanted $275 for the cheapest one they had on the truck so I had to go get and install one myself. A thermostat costs around $30 and for a pro to install can't take much longer than a few minutes. Beware of exorbitant markup on parts.
