They refuse to assist me on my 25-year panel warranty since the system is outside their 10-year system warranty. Panel manufacturer says to work through installer. Thank a lot, Solar City/Tesla. If this is reflective of Tesla's customer service for vehicles, I will never by a Tesla vehicle.

Solar City gave me estimates for leasing vs purchasing a solar system. Numerous features were promised--0 maintenance costs if leasing, lifetime guarantees, price lock-in for future electricity costs (in spite of charging @ $ 19,000 for a system designed to produce @ 80% of current use, I also had to pay a discounted rate for all electricity generated in perpetuity, etc. When the contract was presented, at least 5 issues in the contract directly contradicted what I had been told. Each time I questioned each discrepancy, I was told "oh, don't worry, we never enforce that...". Needless to say, I tore up the contract and told rep to leave and never contact me again--way too many promises were absent or contradicted by written contract, and limited benefits (ie, I had to pay for system AND for electricity it would generate. I believe my promised locked-in cost per KWH was $0.08 or 0.09, but not sure).. Ended up going with DC Solar, who keeps my tax credit and SREC credits, but installs and maintains system $100% free, handled all permits, inspections, etc, and in 36 months I own the system itself but they still maintain it for free. From day 1, I own 100% of the power it generates, including any excess I sell to PEPCO. DCSolar used by several neighbors that I checked with, and they are all very pleased and would do it again (some have had system 3 years and confirmed they Paid.Pay $0 to DCSolar and essentially get all their electricity for free and often sell the surplus to Pepco). Solar City, or at least the rep I dealt with, made promises that the contract explicitly stated were not true, and the most seemed like it would take years, if not forever, to break even, while DCSolar has been very easy to work with, was prompt and professional with installation completed in 1 day, and am very pleased to get a free solar system with free electricity while DCSolar did all the PEPCO/DC/Federal paperwork and put all their promises in writing. They even came back right after the system was installed and activated and added squirrell guards and made sure I had no complaints, and provided a free app where I can monitor my system performance and electricity generated by panels and 2-way meter so I can see what excess is sold to PEPCO.
