The design and build steps were seamless. The entire team was a delight to work with. Sean Mullin (AIA) initiated the project and with his charming young son, Jack, stayed in touch with the project throughout. John Clark carried out the design effort, with a team of Anthony Wilder architects popping by to kibitz and support. Rob Faries enabled project management, with weekly on-site meetings for updates and decisions. Tom Notto (CLC) ably and congenially led his excellent carpentry team (Reon Fogg, Zach Botkin, Andre Cojocaru, and PJ Rieman), as they brought John’s design concept into reality. Quality of the work and integration of details with the existing house are impeccable. The contracting process was easy and transparent. We would call on this group again, without hesitation.
One further thing deserves mention. We ran into major health issues during the construction phase. The daily kindness and thoughtfulness shown by Tom Notto and the entire AW team towards optimizing for safety and usability were deeply appreciated.
