Salesperson encouraged my husband to buy a more expensive model than we had wanted. Didn't give us a chance to try it out, so it wasn't until it was delivered and installed that I realized I couldn't read the writing on the front panel.

Sears ended up having the range of appliance offerings that included the most ideal refrigerator, oven, and dishwasher for our kitchen remodel, with the right dimensions, all the latest features, and within our price tolerance, setting it apart from all the other places we shopped on-line and wandered into. The Lake Forest location was as deserted as you'd expect Sears to be, with its announced financial woes, and they probably weren't making the most efficient use of their floor space to have such a wide variety of stuff out to look at, but that just meant we pretty much had the place and the knowledgeable sales staff's help all to ourselves, so it was maybe a little depressing to see it so empty, but we were so wrapped up trying to figure out just which appliances we wanted to buy that we didn't mind feeling like we'd been admitted to an exclusive shopping event, and we were happy to find everything there in one place and to take advantage of a holiday-weekend sale to get it all at a modest discount as well, and maybe feel like were were doing a little bit to keep a maybe past-prime fixture of the bricks-and-mortar-with-departmental-sales-staff-not-minimum-wage-"associates"-who-aren't-being-paid-enough-to-care-to-try-to-make-sure-you-are-getting-what-you-want afloat a trifle longer. Delivery was a tad slower than amazon prime, but i haven't yet had a need to try to order up a major appliance for quick delivery, so maybe not even

Bought Samsung Top loading High Efficiency washer & dryer and did not like the performance. Sears was quick to allow me to switch brands. When the new washer and dryer, Sears Kenmore (very poor quality) was delivered and the Samsung removed, the delivery personnel, left dirty hand prints on 2 walls and scuffed and scraped the walls. When I reported it, I found out Sears DOES NOT USE SEARS COMPANY EMPLOYEES TO DELIVER. They utilize private movers. The moving company came to "investigate" (took photos) and told me I damaged my walls and was blaming it on them. It took me over 6 months to receive reimbursement from the company, going back and forth by email, before I received compensation for repairing the damage. This was only after I finally sent them a letter of my intention to take formal action against them if I did not receive immediate compensation and cc'd: an attorney, The Better Business Bureau and Consumer Affairs for MD. My Sears credit card has been cut up and put in the trash.
