Although I used the Odenton location, I'm sure that the problems I experienced reflect company-wide policies. This was the WORST experience I have ever had with a contractor. I used Long despite reservations because they were the only company I could find that would do a remote-controlled swing gate in DC. The man who came to discuss the job was incapable of clear communication and Long's contracts are deliberately vague. The project start was months later than promised. One segment of the fence was shorter than promised by the Long representative and shorter than any description in the contract but it cost me $3000 to correct the problem. Long's representative assured me that the lumber in the fence would be pressurized an highest grade but it proved impossible to get that written into the contract and the wood that was used is so bad that the ends started to curl just weeks after the fence was finished. Long would only correct the problem by replacing the bad boards with more bad boards and only after I made a final $1000 payment that I had withheld pending a satisfactory resolution of the issues with the fence. They have an army of attorneys on retainer to hassle consumers who try to stand up to them and a contract full of loopholes. DON'T USE THEM even if you have no other options.

Estimator Paul Bucca was prompt and gave clear recommendations and prices. Installers with Tom Creel were on time and finished work and cleanup the first day.
