I hired R&J Floor Doctor to put vinyl plank flooring on top of the old old old tile in the upstairs of my almost 90-year-old house. I asked him to do the work while I was out of town.

It turned out the cut-off valve for the toilet in the upstairs bath didn't work so Ron ended up going to my basement and using the whole-house cut-off valve.

The baseboards in part of my upstairs had been just leaning against the wall; Ron secured them in place after installing the flooring.

When I got home, I was concerned because the new flooring was coming up on many of the edges. When I called Ron, he explained that the floor it was laid on top of was very uneven (absolutely true) and the new planks were very flat so they naturally wanted to revert to their flat state rather than adopt the new shape of the underflooring. And since the weather was cold, that was also a factor. He advised letting the planks rest in place for about ten days so the planks could relax into their new position, then he would come back with his heat gun and roller, and flatten them back into place. So he came back, worked hard, and those seams were all flat and smooth, and they've stayed that way through this cold winter.

Ron did beautiful work, he communicated well with me before and after the job. He was highly recommended by the place where I bought the flooring, and I am a happy customer.
