Handyman Mike Eidlin, who did a couple of jobs for me, worked very slowly, adding to the cost of initial estimates. On one job, I had to make him leave without completing the job because he kept working far beyond the time he said it would take to finish. One of his workers quietly told me Mike's nickname is "Overkill Mike."

They work by the hour and can't give an estimate of how much the job will take. I think I ended up spending way more than I should have for the couple of jobs they did. The work was good, but I got irritated that there was no way they could estimate the total cost BEFORE they started the work. One one project they had to come back several times but they didn't charge to make sure the work was finally correct.
