They charged me once for the first visit that did not fully clear the problem, and wanted to charge me again for a second visit. The problem was a slow drain on half the plumbing. I had one bathroom that worked and one that would back up for a very slow drain. I used a 25 foot auger or snake which cleared two drains in the basement. I tried the auger on the main basement floor drain. My auger got stuck. Rocket Rooter came out the day I called. They were cautious about getting their equipment stuck. They insisted on a video camera. They would not use the floor drain in the basement, and were hesitant about removing the toilet. They cut a vent pipe. The video could not see anything or could not get far enough down the pipe. They stated with a 1 inch auger/snake. They found roots in the house drains and not in the main drain, and were able to free my auger. They would not clear the main basement drain. With some of the roots cleared, they sent the video camera down and pinpointed the spot of the roots. The cost was $918, $319 for the camera, and $599 for the rooter. A few days later I got the same back problems. I scheduled a second visit. I pulled the toilet. They did not show up for the second visit, I got no response to telephone calls and to e-mail messages until late at night. They wanted to charge me all over again. They were expensive and did not stand behind their work.
