Richard was a bit arrogant and brusque. When I began telling him about the parameters I was looking for, he cut me off and said there were only limited types of plants that would work and it didn't matter what I liked. He also said he was offended when people told him they got more than one estimate - he insisted that he should be the only one. When he emailed his proposal, the cost was reasonable but I didn't like any of the plants and had a sense from our initial conversation that he would get angry and resistant if I asked to change his ideas. It seemed he would continue to be unpleasant to deal with so I did not hire him.

Contracted in April for small landscaping job, on understanding from estimator (Richard) that work would not begin until mid-summer. I experienced a bit of sticker shock but went with this firm because my lawn service's proposal, though much less expensive, was far less detailed about materials and work to be done. Work commenced late July on date agreed, and actually completed in 2 days vs. 3 allowed for. Work was as specified, plus Richard accommodated some last minute changes and even additions at purely nominal cost. Richard also provided what seems like sound advice on several unrelated lawn/landscaping issues. Unlike others, Richard also emphasized the need for me to make sure to keep watering the new plantings. I knew this from experience but not everyone does. Bottom line: reliable and competent outfit to work with. Not a steal in terms of cost, but fair pricing for this area.
