I got 3 quotes for tree pruning. They were by far the least expensive and did an excellent job. They cut out the stump as well. Highly recommend.

Absolute Tree has at least two BBB complaints and complaints are filed at other consumer organizations. This page incorrectly states there is only one complaint at BBB and none at other government organizations. Absolute Tree requires a 50% upfront deposit and then delays the work. The crews are marginal, as is the owner, Ashley Davis. I have a large lot and have used Absolute Tree and others many times in the last ten years. Without exception, Absolute Tree has postponed the work every time, sometimes not showing up even when the work was confirmed the day before. It became a battle to get the work done. Ashely uses a revolving random reason generator – truck broke, chipper choked, grinder grounded, third tooth of saw chain bent, you mean today?, lousy crew no show, might rain, got a big job out (somewhere), soil probably wet from rain two weeks ago, be right there (which means I won’t be there and since I have thousands of your dollars, I can make you wait). It’s not a company, it’s just Ashley – no one is allowed to decide or do anything, they defer to Ashley. My work is usually over $5000 so it is not nuisance work, my lot has good access and I pay right away. I can and do take down trees, so think I am reasonable. Still, I had to file a complaint at the Fairfax County Consumer Affairs to get my $2500 deposit back after several no shows that pushed my work into the wet season with no commitment to TRY to do the work in the next two months. I filed only after Ashley Davis promised to refund the deposit in WRITING, FIVE times over two MONTHS but did not do so and also did not schedule the work! Ashley Davis is a practiced and comfortable liar. Absolute BS can be used for some jobs and they have equipment but the hassle factor increases the quoted price. And the crew needs oversight to get everything done properly. Ashley definitely rides those guys hard; you kind of feel sorry for them even as you are trying to get them to finish the contracted work. There are several tree companies in the area that get the work done well and on time (or with understandable delay). They don’t leave ruts in your property because they drove where you told them not to and you don’t need to watch them.
