It is difficult to get seen quickly at any local vet, but this practice appears to do the best they can to quickly schedule appointments for sick pets. Prices seem higher than other local vet practices. Vets seem very skilled and empathetic, and seem to be overworked.

We used this veterinary practice — and loved it!— for about 15 years. The quality of care and staff friendliness was amazing. Then a lot changed. Some vets retired, but the biggest change was management. Even before the pandemic, the practice was actually sold to a veterinary management group, so we as no longer run by the vets themselves. The care was still superb. I understand that all veterinary practices struggled as a result of the pandemic (vets got burned out; fewer vets and staffing shortages), but Belle Haven has not returned to its pre-pandemic level of care and has deteriorated to the stage where we have found a new veterinary practice, The that remain are highly qualified and very nice, but you can rarely ever see or talk with them. They are not only short staffed, but have reduced their hours “for the summer”[!?) Now, they do not even answer the phone between 12:30 and 1:30 “for staff lunch”. Once upon a time, if your dog was unwell, you were instructed to bring it in immediately. Now, you are told to go to an emergency vet, and it is nearly impossible to get even a run-in appointment with ease. I am not alone in these observations: almost all my neighbors used Belle Haven and every last one of them has stopped doing so. It saddens me tremendously, but there you have it.

Front desk staff has extremely poor customer service. They are unfriendly and seemingly indifferent. Vet staff are better, however, they seemed rushed and spent very little time with me after doing the exam in a back room where I wasn't present to ask questions or take their care advice. The vet spoke to me while typing notes into the computer and quickly exited when she was done. The prices are also very high, likely given the area we live in is affluent.
