Since Five Star sold to Select Security in 2016, I have been very unhappy and intend to change firms. There have been problems with getting parts, following through with appointments, and billing. These issues have not improved at all over time.

Now run by Select Security, which has been a poor performer for me. Lack of follow through with instructions to notify in case of alarm properly, by not following written instruction do so, is of major concern. Charging for two-way service but not using it, to lack of prompt return of calls. The best thing I can say is that the new company Select, has very nice, polite people working and seem sincere. Too bad the people following up don't perform as well. My humble opinion.

The company was taken over by Select Security of Lancaster, PA, when it's owner retired last spring. So far I am not impressed with the new arrangement, and I expect I'll be looking for another home security company as soon as my contract allows. A promised office in the DC area has apparently not been established. Their has been no followup or welcoming communication from Select Security since the takeover, and I did not receive a proper bill for monitoring services until I received a payment overdue notice 2 months after the due date. Problems I have had with my system since before the takeover have continued, but they are not especially significant and I have just given up.
