This company installed our HVAC system and have serviced us for the past 9 years. They are thorough and time efficient. We are fully satisfied with their work.

Over a recent six-week period, Indoor Air Quality Medics (IAQM) made two service calls for a nonworking AC unit at my home, the second one a follow-up. During the first call I was required to sign on-the-spot agreements to pay $512 for parts and labor that I was led to believe would fix the system but, in the end, left the AC unit in the same nonworking order. The follow-up had the same result but I was asked to pay another $85 diagnostic fee which I initially objected to but ultimately paid. So, I have paid $597 to IAQM for work that left the AC unit in the same nonworking order as before their first visit. From there, my IAQM experience got worse. The day after the second service call, the IAQM general manager, Scott, called me wanting to know if I planned to pay the diagnostic fee for the follow-up call. I told him that I thought what I already paid to IAQM ($512 at that point) for work that failed to fix the AC system should be enough and the second call was just a follow-up. He responded with an exceedingly harsh tone beginning with “Let me tell you how this works” while continuing to talk over me with words to rationalize IAQM’s charges. I thought that, at a minimum, I might be offered credit toward potential future work but Scott never offered a hint of consideration in any regard. Future customers should be wary of IAQM’s requirement that you sign on-the-spot to pay for work in progress. During the call Scott repeatedly told me that since I had signed for the $512 I had no basis for objecting to any charges. The IAQM website boasts “100 percent satisfaction guaranteed.” That guarantee was not close to being satisfied in my case and the IAQM general manager’s phone call left me 100 percent dissatisfied.

Obtained multiple estimates for a planned replacement of my ~15 year old Carrier A/C and ~23 year old Trane gas furnace with a new heat pump and gas furnace system. I was primarily interested in American Standard and Trane systems. Dario, the owner of IAQ Medics came by for their estimate, and I was impressed with the thoroughness and attention to detail of his survey and estimate. He didn't try to up-sell me to a more expensive variable speed furnace I was considering, and explained why it was not necessary, but also maybe not a good idea. He provided the primary estimate and a secondary estimate (A/C only - no heat pump) within minutes of completing the survey. In the end, IAQ Medics price wasn't the lowest, but it was close, and included an upgrade to current code that several other estimates had neglected to include. Because of the attention to detail on the estimate, and the superior ratings on Washington Consumers Checkbook, I decided to go with IAQ Medics. I asked for a slight heat pump upgrade (Silver 15 to Silver 16) Dario said it was unnecessary, but wouldn't hurt, and the price increase was acceptable to me. I signed the agreement, and arranged payment and installation. Installation was scheduled within 10 days of the agreement, and went smoothly, especially considering the upgrade to current code. Crew was friendly and helpful. Clean-up was good also; old equipment haul away and disposal was included. Now, more than a month later, system continues to work well, with the heat pump primary on cool days, and the gas furnace kicking in seamlessly on the few colder nights. A/C now working well on warmer days. Not having to change system from cool to heat on the new thermostat appreciated during this crazy spring. The significantly reduced noise of new units, both inside and out, is also appreciated. No experience yet on utility bills, but I expect a slight improvement (old systems had decent efficiency, so it won't be dramatic). Overall, one of the best home maintenance/improvement experiences I have had. Hopefully, the scheduled maintenance will also be as good. Highly recommend IAQ Medics, Dario, and his team.
