I've gone to the Reston Home Depot for years. I want to love this store because it's so close to my home, but I've decided to use their competitor instead from now on. Staff training seems to have deteriorated over the years and now many of the staff do not seem to be knowledgeable about their section and don't take ownership of getting help for customers. The paint section was staffed by two new employees who were unable to help me with fixing a color choice, telling me it wasn't possible (I came back later and did get help from a more experienced employee). Later that week I asked for assistance because I had two full carts. One employee (without even acknowledging my request) walked away to ask another employee to assist. That employee told her he had to wrangle more carts from the parking lot. She indicated I should wait, but the other employee never came back. (I gave up and made two trips.) Too many frustrating interactions make this location not worth the visit.
