I've subscribed to Geek Squad's online tech support for maybe four or five years. In the old days it was great. You signed on through an app, chatted with an agent, and that agent solved whatever problem you were having in real time. Today it's different: 1. After you sign on, they immediately hit you with an advertising pitch to sell you an expanded protection plan -- even before they ask you what your problem is. 2. I had a specific issue with my computer, and I got transferred to a "specialist" who took over my computer and then simply performed a general diagnostic of the entire computer -- without focusing in on the specific problem at all (which didn't get solved). I followed up with another Geek Squad agent and they were pretty defensive of the first technician, so I gave up. 3. Even though everything is handled by chat, it is very difficult to save the chat. There is no save option, they don't send you an e-mail with the transcript, and it's difficult to copy-and-paste the entire chat. Gee, I wonder why they make it so hard to keep a record of your experience with them? 4. They never sent me a customer satisfaction survey, even after I asked for one, So here it is, if anyone at Geek Squad is interested.
