My "Recommended" rating is tempered by our experience with 10 Schip laurels planted for privacy screens, where more than half of the plants failed over the year (admittedly, a tough year weather-wise). Meadows Farm's replaced them once after we sent photos showing the failures, but the 3 of the replacement plants are also now half-dead. It seems to us either that the plants are weak when first planted, and/or planted badly or in a bad spot, which we see as the landscapers' failure.
