Clients fill out lengthy questionnaires (like Turbotax) independently and then tax returns are completed based on the responses. Fees are high for simple tax returns ($400 - 500) and clients must pay a high hourly fee of the accountants to ask questions over the phone (unlike Turbotax which has a free hotline). Also, clients are charged the high hourly fee to meet with an accountant.
