I was a customer of Mario's in Orland for years. While they were very expensive, they always did a great job on my hair. However, the last time I went, I saw a new colorist because my regular person no longer worked there. The new colorist was rude and inpatient with me. It was the day before Christmas, and I explained to her that I had been up all night wrapping presents, so I was very sleepy. I tried very hard to stay awake, but did doze off a couple of times. I think this really annoyed her, although I'm not sure why, as I wasn't falling out of the chair or anything like that. I still felt bad though, so I tolerated her rolling her eyes and making faces while she was coloring my hair. I told her that I wanted her to color my hair the exact way I had it done the last time (they keep customer cards, so she should have had the exact color formula). When she was done, she took me to the stylist for my hair cut. When the stylist was done and my hair was dry, I realized that the color was way off. It was at least 5 shades lighter than my previous color, and she missed certain areas, so it looked two-toned. On top of that, they were going to let me walk out with gobs of hair color on my neck, in my ears and all along my forehead. This was when I finally got mad. For years I've been spending almost $300 for a hair cut and color each time I come, and this is the service I get? I asked to speak to the manager, and that was when I understood why the service had become so poor. The manager did not deny that my hair was two-toned, but instead said that it looks "nice". It does not matter if it looks nice, that's not what I asked for. In addition, she made it seem like it was not a big deal that they left all the hair color on me. She said, "Oh, we can get someone to take that off." She had one of the assistants come over and clean me up. She missed the point that I should not have had to ask them to remove all the excess color, they should never allow any customers to walk out like that. She offered to have me come back another day and have the color redone. However, after all that, I decided to go elsewhere. I've never been back.
