Solgen was difficult to deal with. So difficult, in fact, that we decided not to do business with them. Their initial intake process was fine, but once we moved to the human interaction phase (via Zoom and phone), they dropped the ball multiple times. Then we read some additional reviews, which gave more details - we do not want to do business with them.

What DID NOT go wrong??? Nothing! Salesmen promised the moon - solar panels could be wired into existing generator panel to power house during power outages. Electrician doing the wiring - not possible. Would get new electric panel. Didn't. Electrician would fix existing wiring probelm when new electric panel is installed. Didn't. Would eliminate monthly electric bill. Hasn't - has made NO difference in electric bill AT ALL. When installing panels, instead of drilling into attic space, drilled thru the wall of my daughter's bedroom just above her head where she was seated at her desk. Did not follow blueprint for panel installation - put majority of them on one section of roof, leaving exposed metal tubing on other section of roof, making it look like we ran out of money and couldn't buy enough panels. Financing contract has small print that includes balloon payment equal to federal rebate - if you don't pay the equivalent to the financing company, your payment goes up. Contract also puts lien on your house. Both of which are NOT mentioned by salesmen. Salesmen say financing is easy - instead of paying electric company, you're paying for the panels which is an investment in your house! We thankfully paid cash, since we're STILL paying full electric bill each month! At this point we have NO IDEA what the benefit is that we're getting for having installed solar panels! And Solgen has little interest in talking with us - they say everything is fine and do not return our calls. They have our cash, they are done.
