As far as heat pump prices, Ke-Aire's were comparable to the other two companies from whom I got estimates. However, during the agreement review process for a new heat pump, the owner wasn't transparent about the all the components. For example, I was told that a more efficient filter could be installed later, if I needed it. Also, I was given no options for a thermostat. After I resolved the main issues, and the system was installed, I had trouble with the thermostat and they couldn't find any thing wrong. When I asked for a different thermostat, all they said was "I'm sorry" and then they left. When I started having more allergy problems I called to ask for a higher efficiency filter and the owner, the same person I had spoken to before the installation, said it wasn't recommended with that equipment. Later, when it was only a year old, the condenser sprang a leak. I decided enough was enough, decided that I could not trust them, and called in another company recommended by the manufacturer. Not only did this new company fix the leak, but they installed a new thermostat that was easy to use and had lots of features, including wireless connectivity. There is no way I would trust them to work on the system again.

They could have tried to sell me a new heater, but they fixed the old one and said it was just a part. They were extremely honest.

I am sure Kel-Aire is *not* the lowest priced HVAC vendor. What Kel-Aire is, is professional and well staffed and run. I’ve always received prompt & good service from them. I’ve used them for several projects & pleased with results. During a heat wave, several vendors were not answering their phones. Kel-Aire did, and as an existing customer, squeezed me into their schedule
