While House of Heat does good work, just be aware of their $139.50 service call minimum (for any amount of time spent <= 60 minutes). My boiler cleaning took less than 30 minutes, yet cost $139.50.

There isn’t any heating service I’ve ever used that has been as good, efficient and professional as House of Heat....

House of Heat was my go-to place for heating and AC service for 27 years, and they were the only people I contacted when I need to completely replace my system several years ago. However, things seem to have changed recently. Last summer my A/C stopped cooling; and despite the fact that I had been a steady customer for 27 years, and it was a system that they had installed, they said they couldn't come out for four days. Then last week, my furnace wasn't working, and the tech. I spoke with told me, "Because of this (coronavirus) emergency, our charge to come out is $270, which includes the first hour." This was on a weekday, during normal business hours. I called another small Oak Park contractor, who said his charge was $120; and I called a large heating-cooling "chain" and they told me $89 for the call and the first half hour. (Ultimately, I was able to fix it myself -- just had to clean the flame sensor -- 8 minutes and a crisp dollar bill.) Never again!
