I hate to write this review, but I cannot recommend this company on the grounds of reliability. John G. Webster (Webster) installed an HVAC in my former condo and did an okay job. There were issues with the inspection that complicated things for me in connection with the condo's sale, but we got through it. When I had an issue with the AC in my new home, they came quickly and fixed it. So, when I faced a major plumbing issue, I gave them a call. I took time off from work to meet the person they sent, Branden, who was here for a LONG time, gave me a preliminary estimate on the plumbing job, and said he would send it in writing soon (he was very courteous, seemed knowledgeable, and I did not suspect a problem). I mentioned that I was also planning ahead for a potential HVAC/water heater replacement in the house, so he took a ton of notes and pictures so that Webster could send me an estimate for that, as well. When I didn't hear anything, I checked in on the immediate estimate that I needed on the plumbing job. I got a call from the President of the plumbing side of Webster's business, Silas, who said he had to come take a look. I guess the information Branden collected at my house was not sufficient for him to provide the estimate. So, we set an appointment that had to be rescheduled once due to a snow storm. Then he never showed up for the rescheduled appointment. He did not respond to calls or texts asking him what had happened. I called the front desk for the company and they said they didn't know what was going on. I reached out to the President of the HVAC side of the company that I had worked with before (and who takes a lot of money from other family members of mine who live in the area and work with Webster for HVAC), Ralph, and he never responded, either. I don't know if the company is going under or what, but I moved on and members of my family who have a contract with Webster are considering doing the same, because you can't work with a company that wastes your time with apparently pointless appointments in your home, doesn't keep other appointments or even let you know they're not coming, and doesn't return phone calls. It's a shame, because the work that they've done for me was generally good, other than the troubles with the inspection.

I have been a loyal customer of this company for many years but I am letting them go. They tried to sell me a new and lower quality ac system telling me I had a leak and that my old unit was not worth repairing. I got a second opinion. Turned out all I needed was a simple inexpensive part. Earlier this year they wanted to charge me over $1000 to replace an air scoop on my boiler. This is an inexpensive part that threads in. Over the years I have had many good experiences with this company but now I feel I can no longer trust them.

Technician didn’t do a complete job as I compared his work by others from the company. He left the hose outside on the walkway and there wasn’t evidence that he used the hose to clean the coils on the outside unit. He was asked if the filter needed changing and he replied”No”. When asked to check the filter, it was clearly in need if changing. Very poor workmanship.
