Berg's taped and sealed about 7 floor heat vents and charged $175, which I thought was reasonable for about 1 1/2 hours of work and materials. I will hire him again, though he's busy and hard to schedule.

Late one Friday night in the winter, we could not turn on the 60-plus-year-old gas-fired furnace in the house. I called and left a message with the answering service for this company. Positives: The owner called me on Saturday morning and said he could come to the house. He arrived on time and methodically tested the furnace over the course of a few minutes to rule out reasons why it was not turning on. Eventually, he brushed off some debris from the burners and the furnace started. Throughout, he was polite. Negatives: He did not spend any time examining this very old furnace for other problems. We are happy to pay for a service call, but we expect a professional HVAC technician to be thorough. The gas utility company offers a free safety and troubleshooting inspection. The following week at our request, the utility company dispatched a technician who found four major problems: pilot light and burner flames were burning bright yellow (not blue), burner flame recirculation, black soot everywhere in the furnace and draft box leading up into the flue pipe, and high levels of carbon monoxide. He shut off the furnace permanently, issued a hazard notice, and told us to replace it with a new one. To his credit, the owner came out on a Saturday morning and got the furnace started again. However, we are not satisfied with the thoroughness of his service. Therefore, we can not recommend this HVAC company.

Had a furnace installed in May 2021 by Berg’s. Heat does not flow into one bedroom. I have phoned numerous times throughout 2021 and 2022, requesting this problem be examined and fixed. Never happened. Even spoke to the owner, with never a call back to take care of the matter. Truly a disappointment.
