Becoming an “ear computer” user is a multistage, multiyear journey: + you come to the realization that you need help with hearing + you get a diagnosis (including audiogram) and device recommendation + you comparison shop, then purchase and go through a period of adjusting to your assistive device + periodic visits to “check on life with ear computers,” device and biannual audiograms I’m glad Tracy Murphy, Au.D. was there for each phase from the first audiogram (you don’t need hearing aids now; come back when you sense that you do) to my current, 4th year with 12 channel “ear computers.” I’ve benefited from the expertise at NSAVL. Both Paul Preiss and Tracy Murphy are nationally recognized practitioners, and the practice is at the forefront of device technology through Dr. Preiss’ association with the Hearing Instrument Manufacturer’s Software Association (HIMSA) Board. I tell my friends: + “denial” isn’t only a river in Egypt: I should have gotten “ear computers” a year or two before I did. + partner with a good audiologist rather than the shopping mall Hearing Center. I choose the benefits of a medical professional to guide my journey to better hearing rather than a retail business owner / Licensed Hearing Aid Specialist.

Dr. Pessis is extremely patient and helpful in adjusting my hearing aid.
