Since 2013, I was a subscription client with Convenient HVAC which Gleason acquired in 2021. Most every time these companies come out for Fall or Spring tune-ups the tech finds some fault which they recommend servicing. Nov 2022, the Gleason tech said my Lennox furnace capacitor was out of spec and leaking and my furnace igniter should be replaced; respective costs $308 and $464, BUT with my 20% subscription member discount, only $618. I had them do the job but was unhappy with the cost. Afterward, I checked part costs online. Together parts were about $50. I went down to open the furnace panel. The capacitor was right there in front easy to snap in and out! The igniter was visible and I estimated it might take ME less than an hour to remove and replace. I called to complain about the high price. I called two other contractors to get pricing on replacing those parts on my model furnace without a "20% member discount". Those contractors Ibbotson and Servicemax came in at $434 and $493 respectively which included the cost of a service call besides the parts replacement. Mind you I had no service call charge from Gleason because I pay to have them come out Spring and Fall in advance. Gleason would not adjust their super HIGH parts replacement pricing. Beware.
