COMPANY WILL NOT REFUND MY REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT. Got an estimate for a new A/C unit and Assured Air, on Sunday, on Monday I scheduled work for Saturday. Company pushed back when I suggested getting the required permit. Then told me I was going to have to pay to register them to do work in my town. They couldn't do the work for 6 days. I asked if a deposit was required (big mistake) and they took $300. If I had not mentioned it, no deposit would have been discussed. Subsequently found a contractor who could install A/C tomorrow. They would not return the deposit. Said it was for a "restocking fee" for an a/c which I was previously told was stocked by them. I did not sign a contract and will be disputing the charge on my credit card. Only reason I dealt with them in the past is that they bought the business book from my previous HVAC company, Ascot Systems. Person I talked to had to keep asking "the supervisor" what to say to me when I made a point to her. She knew she was lying to me about the "restocking fee." I could have stopped payment on the check I used to pay for the original service call but I did not do that. I actually value integrity.
