I'm sorry I can't rate the cost, because I just wanted someone to do the work that I could trust. We used them some years ago, and were completely satisfied with the experience. Our yard has three types of fencing. A chain link fence in the back and an aluminum panel fence with vertical posts that have 5" spaces between them. Our problem was that we had gotten a new, giant, neurotic dog who thought the fence was there as a suggestion, which he periodically refused to take. Although he was much was much wider than the 5" gap between the vertical posts, he was also 160 lbs. of muscle and bone and the fence posts didn't stand a chance. He was also able to run right through the chain link fence, pushing it up from the bottom. Of course, there was also the tree limb that had fallen and crushed a part of the fence. When I described the problems to the estimator, in addition to replacing the broken and damaged parts, he came up with what sounded like very practical suggestions on how to strengthen the two fences the dog had been using for his excursions. I also asked if they could repair one of the gates, so he put that in the estimate. The estimated start date was farther in the future than I would have liked, but that was because he didn't think there were any local warehouses with the necessary fence panels so he built in the additional time it would take to have the panels shipped. One obvious problem we had was that much of the fence was overgrown with brambles and woody tree-strangling vines (oriental bittersweet?). He said not to worry about that, because their employees carry machetes to deal with that sort of thing. As it turned out, they started about 2 weeks ahead of schedule because they were able to find the fence material locally. The one hiccough was that they had underestimated the length of the fence, but that was because the brambles were so thick that the fence line was impassible and I HUGELY underestimated the remaining length. I'll take responsibility for that. They ended up asking for a small additional payment, which couldn't have been more than the cost of the additional materials. Even with that, they had budgeted 2 days but finished a half day early. After they left, when I inspected the fence, I saw that they had chopped their way through the brambles and the vines (even the tree people hadn't done that), much to the benefit of my yard and especially my trees. The work they did was meticulous, and almost unnoticeable -- and I mean that in the best possible way. They managed to make the fences impenetrable to my dog (who is now about 180 lbs.), and the only time he has gotten out since is when someone left the gate open! Most surprisingly to me was that I had only asked them to fix one of the gates. They fixed all four gates. Basically, they had simply done an inspection of everything and fixed whatever was broken, all a no extra charge. Highly recommended. It was several years ago when we last used them, so it was really, really nice to see that they have maintained their high standards of quality and care.

They built a small section of cedar fence for me last year. The boards themselves are fine but I have had problems with the gate. The posts have split (twice) and as a result the gate does not open easily because it is off center. Master Fences did come out to replace the posts once after I complained, so I will give them credit for that. The boards look fine and their price was lower than competition. But the posts have cracked again and the gate is once again sticking and not opening easily, so I have to presume it was not installed right or the posts are not high quality.
