Called due to a condensation leak in our system. The tech spent 15 minutes checking what he assumed was the issue and explained why he thought it was leaking. We were charged $126 for the visit. The alarm went off again that evening because of water leaking. The same tech was sent back out (note I had to wait home 3 hours and work full time- which is a hassle). He admitted that the previous visit he rushed because he was hot and tired and did not notice the calcification on a coil (right at eye level) which meant there was a leak. He also did not look at the pan in the unit to see it had a crack and water was leaking out, which is one of the most common reasons for leaks. He rigged the system so the water would run properly to the drain and we got a bill for $222 for the hour. If he had properly checked it the first time we would not have had to call him back and incur another charge. We had to call the office to get invoices sent to us because his device didn't email invoices for some reason. Their service is seriously lacking from what it was in the past. I would not recommend this company any longer.

Told me that the EPA had banned the coolant for my A/C system, which was incorrect, told me that the system needed to be replaced, and recommended a $18,000 system. Another vendor topped off the coolant, cleaned the system, and replaced a few parts for a few hundred bucks, and the system is working great now.

The last three times I've called Davis & Davis they were bad. One time they saw a blocked tube, told me about it and said they would replace on next visit, but it failed within a week. I forgave that. Called them to do my fall furnace check and they started my humidifier on the attic system. It then began to leak and dripped through the ceiling. When I called them back that day they came out and because it wasn't leaking at that very moment, couldn't figure out what was wrong. When it started again two hours later they came again -- but then said that company policy was to not work on humidifiers in attics -- despite them having come twice that day to do just that. This was a Friday at 5:30pm so I was facing an emergency call to someone else. After much conversation with the manager back at the shop they agreed to shut it down. I should have known better when two years earlier I called them for an estimate to replace our two HVAC systems and although the guy came to look, they never sent the estimate. Disappointing, because we had happily used them for 20 years before.
