I just decided to change our door lock with new and get new keys. This wasn't an emergency job, but he was able to come right away, anyway. I have been in this home for 26 years and I wanted to change to lever locks and get new keys. It was especially important to get new keys so we have an original to make duplicates. It had been so long with the old locks, we just needed to start over.

A renovation contractor had removed and replaced our locks, and damaged them in the process. Eric figured out (with pictures I sent over the phone) what had happened and proposed better locks than what we had originally. There is a new phone number for this business 301-277-1126 and address in Bowie.

Called on a Thursday, got a call back next day with request for photos of broken lock, which I provided, and got appointment for the next day (Saturday morning). Derek was on time, and tried to fix the malfunctioning double-side dead bolt lock, but repair not possible. Derek took out old dead bolt lock and replaced it with a new one that he re-keyed so as to be able to continue to use keys to old lock, but made me two additional copies as well. Seemed a little pricey to me ($285.90), but, since the lock was not working and I needed it replaced, I never asked about the price, and the job took less than an hour and was well done. New lock is working fine from inside and outside, and have plenty of keys now. ALSO, the business address for Ernie's Lock Co., Inc., has changed and is now 3201 New Coach Lane, Bowie, MD 20716.
