They came the irst time when my lock wasn't working and put in a new device. that didn't work properly after awhile so I called them back and they came again and said they had fixed th eproblem. when the dooor continued sticking I called them back again and they werevery rude and refused to come back. I had used the company previously with success, but it seems there is a different group running the company now. I do not recommend them.l

My spouse inadvertently threw her keys down the trash chute afterhours just before New Year's Eve. Rather than dumpster dive, we decided we would get duplicate keys. That turned out to be easier said than done. We were given the names of three locksmiths. One is located in Waldorf, MD. So we called the second located in Rockville. The person who answered the phone said that, because the keys are MEDECO, the condo Management would have to order the replacement key. It seemed very roundabout, not to mention odd since as the unit owners we should be the only persons who can authorize replacement keys. Also, the company that originally issued the MEDECO keys, SafemasterS, is no longer in the business. While we were waiting to hear back from the front office of our condo, we decided to follow-up on the third referral. Rockville Lock and Key (301-204-4204) said they could schedule a man to come the same afternoon to replace the cylinder. The alternative of replacing the cylinder is more expensive than cutting new keys. But there was no need to involve the building management and by that point we were concerned about not having authority to order our own replacements keys. So, we decided to go with Rockville Lock and Key. We were only surprised that the other company didn't offer to do the same thing. Rockville Lock and Key's man, Tal, was perhaps an hour late give-or-take. But he let us know his status and when he would arrive. When Tal arrived he said he could install a Kenaurd cylinder and 6 keys, and explained that Kenaurd has the same business and security model as MEDECO, and is less expensive. He would have to come back another day if we wanted a MEDECO cylinder. So, after quickly perusing the internet and condo rules to confirm that we are not required to use MEDECO locks, we went with that option and can highly recommend this company.
