Shawn provided expert consulting and outstanding creativity to help us connect what was essentially two separate houses - a 1940s cape cod (old house) with a 1990s 30x30 addition (new house) into a single flowing dwelling. The drawings were very well done also. The old house exterior wall had been left in place with access through awkwardly placed doors on both first and second floors. These left two bedrooms as pass thru hallways. We removed the “old house” staircases to gain space for hallways and then had to solve a major problem for the new kitchen design; The new opening (cut thru to old house) decreased the wall space and left little option for a functional work triangle. He added a 12 foot island that solved the problem and proved to be a sensationally beautiful feature. The island is parallel to the new sight line across the front of both “houses” The only area I would mention that could be better is availability and involvement in the construction phase, but the builder mostly had it handled and Shawn did come when called.
