I had a very poor experience at Metro Orthopedics and Sports Therapy, now located at 7811 Montrose Road, Suite 340, Potomac, MD 20854. I showed up with what I now know is a herniated a disc in my back. Dr. Douglas Murphy diagnosed the condition while franticly pacing back-and-forth and acting in a very strange, agitated manner. He said I need to get an MRI today (not tomorrow) and get surgery done immediately following that. Luckily, despite being extremely scared I got a second opinion and learned that 80% of herniated discs repair themselves in 4-6 weeks with anti-inflammatory medicine and rest. Now, I'm back to normal without having to undergo a costly and potentially dangerous spine surgery. Due to his exaggerated behavior, I honestly believe that Dr. Murphy was trying to stoke fear in me to increase surgery revenue at his practice and it's completely wrong to do this to someone who is scared and injured. I do not recommend his practice in any way.
