Delta Service did a good job on a furnace replacement at a competitive price in September 2025. Not realizing how competitive the Washington market is for HVAC work, I solicited proposals from five of the highly rated contractors where each had a large number of ratings here on Checkbook. One of the five was wildly more expensive. The other four were unexpectedly close on price and equipment capacity. Had I known what to expect, I would have solicited proposals from only three instead of five companies. As I said, prices were so close as to not be deciding factor, and all five companies had great records here on Checkbook. The two reasons that led me to choose Delta are explained below. First, the individual inspecting what I needed and making the proposal was the same person (Paul) who was to do the installation with a small crew. One recommendation he made to reorient the furnace probably came from his day-to-day hands-on experience. The other individuals who wrote proposals were all knowledgeable, transparent and articulate. But most did not have recent hands-on installation experience. The other deciding factor was that Paul 'down-sold' his proposal. All four of the competitive proposals included alternate equipment choices. And there three-fold span of cost depending on the sophistication of the furnace. Costs were similar among the four competitive proposals at each level. Delta was the only one of the four that recommended a lower-end model based on characteristics of my ductwork. I am not an expert and may be wrong, but that lack of up-selling suggested to me that Delta's proposal might be more in line with my interests.

I received a next day appointment from DELTA Service when my HVAC went off in the heat of the Summer! Paul, the DELTA lead technician, was prompt, thorough, and explained as the work went on. Paul did multiple small services to get my system up and running the same day. I will definitely use DELTA for my heating and cooling in the future.
