A Betty's designer came to my home to provide me with a landscape design. It was during the design meeting that I was 1st told there was a $2000 minimum for the full package. The full package included a designer doing an in home consultation, providing a drawn design, plant selection and installation. This was about $1200 over my budget. The designer at this point had the option of just providing a $50 consultation, no drawing or plan would have been provided. Instead this was NOT offered and I was charged and paid the previously agreed upon $75 fee and received a design layout (that I couldn't use because it was too expensive for my budget). I called Betty's office and asked for them to consider a re-dress to an obviously poor communication issue. They refused. Instead they lost me as a customer. I went to Merrifield and had a very happy ending:)

$40,000 landscape design, plantings, and koi pond installation. Started work late-August 2013 on "two week" project, but workers arrived sporadically dragging out project to six weeks. Designer came to site infrequently, so workers deviated from printed design and our expectations. We couldn't take off work indefinitely to be there when workers arrived, and Betty's never told us when that would be. Final planting done in October, and some of the plants were obviously end-of-year leftovers. Many died over hard winter, so we contacted Betty's Azaleas in May to replace dead plants under 1-year warranty. Said they were booked up, and would get to it when they had time. Eventually arrived in July and replaced most of dead plants, shrubs, roses. We like the selection and prices of nursery items at their location, but I would not recommend landscape design and installation unless homeowner is under no schedule expectation, and someone is at home all day everyday to supervise.
