I responded to an advertisement left by Resurface which offered driveway resealing for $79, with a 10% discount if more than one neighbor had work done the same day. My neighbor and I tried to book work for the same day but the company "never got the voicemail" and did my neighbor's driveway but not mine, charging her $79. I subsequently called and booked my own service, with a confirmed price of $71 if another neighbor's work was done the same day. The work had to be rescheduled twice due to weather. Each time the $71 price was confirmed verbally. Yesterday, when the weather was fine, the Resurface came, completed work for my neighbor, and left me a voicemail message to call them back. The administrator assistant told me that unfortunately the price for my work had increased to $114. Had they told me from the beginning that they would not honor the advertisement price, that is one thing. But to reschedule the service, repeatedly confirm the lower price to me, and then raise it by over $40 on the day the work was to be done, is unacceptable business practice. I cancelled and will look for another firm.
