Mr. Ray Kruse epitomizes his company’s slogan: “The Standard is Excellence,” both in his professionalism and work ethic and in the finished product. He and his company Truebilt provided the first of five proposals from top-rated Checkbook deck builders we received. His was the most detailed, offering several options of Trex products and other options to consider. Despite his detailed estimate we still had additional questions, which he gladly answered. His proposal was the second least expensive, but much more specific and complete than all of the others. The work consisted of replacing the flooring, railing and stairs of our 30+ year-old, one-story-high deck and some of the supporting uprights. Ray obtained both the building permit and an additional waiver because our house is in a designated floodplain. This turned into a rather involved process, due to the additional floodplain requirement, but Ray kept us informed every step of the way. After he and his assistant Carlos began the work, the deck was finished in a couple of weeks. The workmanship and attention to detail are evident both from the top down and from the bottom up, as Ray improved the supporting structure before replacing the decking and railing. Ray removed all of the old materials daily, so there was never a need for an on-site dumpster. He and Carlos were very careful to ensure that the newly delivered products were quickly moved to the back of the house to avoid any damage to the lawn. In summary, Ray and his company provided the best contractor experience that I have had in my 30 years as a homeowner in this area. I recommend him and his company highly.

I love my new deck built by Truebilt General Contractors. The deck was completed last year about this time. Ray Kruze did an amazing job beginning with the demolition of a 30+ year old deck to the completion of a new composite deck. He was a good communicator when I had any questions and also made excellent suggestions along the way. The project was completed on time and at the agreed upon price. The new deck came through the difficult winter with no problems.
