We recently replaced our HVAC system and water heater. I got 3 bids and NoVA Mechanical services had both the lowest price and the most informative recommendations. (One high-rated bidder said that they would not pull a permit for the job because they were "too small," but Fairfax County requires a permit for furnace replacements). NoVA is a Trane dealer and installed a Trane heat pump, gas furnace with a 2-stage blower, a Rheem water heater, and a new Honeywell thermostat and wire to handle the hybrid HVAC system. The installation went smoothly and was completed in one day on the scheduled date. All three appliances have worked smoothly since installation. NoVA Mechanical took care of the permitting and even sent a tech to meet with the inspector. I did not care for the T-6 thermostat that they installed because it did not display the outside temperature and displayed only part of the schedule. The owner offered to replace it with a Honeywell 8000 series at no charge. This was scheduled and the replacement thermostat installed in a few minutes. When I reviewed the installer settings later, it was clear that the thermostat hadn't been set up in the correct hybrid configuration. The owner promptly dispatched a tech who understood the complex settings, and he configured the thermostat correctly in just a few minutes. I very much appreciated the knowledge and advice of the owner and his rapid response to the thermostat issues. I highly recommend making NoVA Mechanical one of the companies that you have bid on your project.

Owner Steve Barry spent lots of time with us and provided good advice when we purchased a new Trane hybrid heat pump system. He sells exclusively Trane equipment, which IMO is the best. He charged a very fair price and his installation techs also were very knowledgeable.

I purchased a heat pump with a gas furnace back up. I took bids and I appreciated the explanations received when I phoned with questions. This company was not the low bid, but the price did include an annual service check up. Kudos to the woman who answers the phone. She helped me fill out the warranty papers.
