Tom Muse cleared out a significant chimney blockage that was affecting the operation of our furnace. When our furnace failed (after 19 years) during cold weather, they had a new furnace installed by noon the next day. I find them easy to work with

BEWARE! Tom Muse Service has been sold by the Muse family and it's not what it was. Our furnace died on a Sunday in late February. I called and an individual came an hour later. Great! He told me he was the service manager and our furnace was so old it would be very hard--if not impossible--to get parts so he didn't want to bother trying to track the problem. We should get a new system. (We did servicing twice a year and every time I asked it it was time to get a new system the answer was "No, this is in great shape." Even on Nov. 29, 2023 when the last servicing was done.) He recommended a very pricey system from Carrier (old system was Lennox). After a lot of sales info I decided to do it. No heat Monday, but I own sweaters so... By Tuesday morning the installers were here and put in the new system. It didn't work. The sales guy was here working with the installers and belatedly remembered that the software for the system had been upgraded and his assumption that it would have been used on this brand new system was wrong. At 4 in the afternoon he had to go back to the office and get the SD card with the new software. He came back at 5:30 (rush hour traffic.) By 6 or so the system was on but he was fumbling trying to program it. I had to go out. He would come back. I came home at 8:30 to a house that felt like a sauna. The "Zone 1" setting for heat was 72 degrees; the temp was 78 and the system was still running full blast. I finally got it to turn off when I set the requested temp for 62 degrees. The next day I called the company and he came back. He had done the wiring and had switched the zone wires so it was trying to heat the wrong area. He fixed it. The Zone 1 temp was calling for 70 degrees; the thermostat didn't go off until it read 75 even after I lowered the temp to 68. That issue is still unresolved and calls lead to promises with no delivery on the promise. I wish I'd known the company had been sold, but now you know.
