I had Ram Plasc come in to install a new drywall ceiling over most of my house. While they did a good job of the actual hanging, taping, and mudding, there were several problems. First of all, they did not put down ramboard to protect the floors. I had tarping down from other work and they assumed this meant that they did not need to put down ramboard, I never told them to omit it. They did not clean the existing walls when taping to them, thankfully I did so before hand (not doing so can mean a poor bond and flaking off in the future). They also were to blend the texture into the existing wall for which they did a HORRIBLE job. This was the thing that really ruined the experience. My walls have a traditional knockdown texture and they just slopped a crosshatch pattern over it. It looked terrible. I had to remove it and redo it all myself. I'm an amateur and what I did looks fantastic by comparison...it is not a difficult texture to work with or to match, which is part of why it is so popular. In general there was very poor communication. They called and told me they finished the job while my floors were still covered in huge amounts of drywall dust. They left bags of unused mud just lying around. Very, very unprofessional. Very poor project management. Price was decent but I shouldn't have had to quite literally clean up their mess.
