My daughters dog got sick quickly we took him there and told them do not do anything Rash without our consent. Suddenly our dog is being checked to a phone call saying " Sorry we put your dog down. Now how shall we deal with the remains ?"

I have been a client at Animal Hospital of Parkland (Dr. Ernest Peterson) since they opened their doors. They have served all of my animals from the time that the animal came into my home until they passed away as elders. (cats, dogs, and even ferrets) As with all relationships that progress over the years, there have been ups and downs. There were times when I felt that a diagnosis would have been made more quickly had the doctor listened carefully to my concerns. Other times, I felt gifted with a doctor who found or knew answers before I knew the questions to ask. I was fortunate that he is a skilled surgeon. Veterinarians have a difficult job. They are doctors and as doctors they can't always give us the miracles that we want. I can't really comment on the prices. Everything seems so expensive to me now. I do know that they offer pet care insurance and it should help offset some of the fees. I pay a great deal per year to keep my elderly dog on medications, for tests that he needs, for special diet food, etc. However, that, of course, is my choice. The medical staff all keep abreast of new technologies with continuous training and investment in newer methods to identify illnesses. They also have a solid network of specialists for referrals. All of the technicians are first rate. The same is true of the office staff. What I notice is that if these people don't have a compassionate work ethic, they don't last very long. I think that speaks well to the quality of service that you can expect for your pets. One of the technicians has a special place in my heart. I've known her since she first started. She always demonstrates concern as well as a good training and vast experience. All in all, I feel fortunate to have had such a long standing relationship with a hospital that works hard to help animals. There have been many times when late at night the doctor would call to discuss one of my animal's medical issues. These people work long hours and rarely get a vacation. Yet they don't complain but continue to demonstrate compassion and good medical care for animals.
