Wittens came out to check the Chimney and intimated that the work was complicated. They sent me an estimate for $1500. Based on the explanation that the work was complex, I accepted the estimate. The workers arrived late in the afternoon and completed the work in 15 minutes. Apparently, they removed some ducting and installed a new Chimney outlet. The cost for this was $1500. When I complained, the manager agreed to reduce the cost by $200. I consider this "highway robbery". However, in hind sight, it was my fault for not getting several bids for the work. I strongly advise your readers to avoid this vendor. This vendor has 2 locations, Novato and San Rafael.
