While Sears Home Services made the repair of clearing the water line to the refrigerator's ice maker, it involved approximately 15 minutes of labor, not parts, and they charged me $350.00. By the time they give you an estimate of the cost, they are going to charge you $90 if you say no. In the surrounding days, I had a whole house AC unit repaired involving replacement of a key capacitor and taking over 30 minutes, for $160 in parts AND labor - about half what Sears charged for their 15 minutes of labor alone.

Recommended with high caution and informed expectation. Sears sent a subcontractor to fix oven door. First visit, arrived on time but struggled to fix door, finally broke the new replacement part, said he would contact Sears and return with new part in a week. Did not return or call or respond to my calls. Sears simply said they would contact him but did nothing else to facilitate the repair. Eventually, the subcontractor called, made appointment to replace part, arrived on time, struggled a bit more but replaced the part and fixed the door successfully. He was very pleasant and admitted that he had received the part more than a week before getting back to me. Bottom line, he made the repair, Sears backed up their warranty, and, for now, all is well. So eventually, the combination of Sears and the subcontractor got the job done; the path to completion, however, was a struggle for me. So my recommendation is check your expectations and your patience.

"Repair" person attempted to sell us a home guarantee and not report his visit so we could supposedly call them again and have the repair covered by the newly bought guarantee. Totally dishonest.
