Company came in to resolve a problem with a new heat pump installation by another HVAC company. The job was to replace the lineset and lift air handler so air would flow up through heat coils into ductwork (as first HVAC company installed wrong). Upon entering, the job requirements were restated (i.e. lineset and lift air handler). Mid-day I notice them connecting the unit and using the old lineset at which point, I stated the lineset was supposed to be replaced. The individual said he wasn't doing that and was instructed by his office not to do it. I asked why he didn't feel he should mention that while proceeding with the job. I got no answer and had to follow-up with the group who coordinated the heat pump installation and contracted Deljo to come to my house. The person doing the main installation was a jerk. His co-worker was pleasant and made numerous trips up and down to check things on the thermostat and tried to be accommodating. Then they couldn't get the heat pump to operate and the main guy says he's planning on leaving when I had to get the contractor back on the phone and they had to get a call into Carrier to have them explain the connections. (Deljo was supposed to be a Carrier authorized dealer). In the end, they wouldn't replace the lineset and during the summer the heat pump failed with the copper line freezing/thawing and dripping water. Another HVAC company came out and said the lineset was part of the problem. The old copper line from the previous AC was used and was the wrong size for the heat pump. The line was never insulated either (which was clearly outlined in the installation manual). Based on that, they said is was possible contaminants got into the line as well during the installation. Granted, Deljo came in behind another company to fix the problem with the initial install but being a Carrier authorized dealer, one would have expected to see the problem with the first install and correct it. The fact that they refused to do it was probably the biggest reason for my rating.

We had a service contract with Deljo for which we paid a monthly fee. We called them in an emergency situation and were told to call back multiple times over the course of hours. They never provided assistance nor returned our calls both during and after the emergency, life or death, event.
