Boyland installed our whole-house Generac generator in Arlington. Based on reviews in Checkbook and elsewhere, we had 4 companies come out. The proposals were quite similar. Boyland's price was slightly lower than the others, but we hired them mainly because of the professionalism of Doug Boyland and staff. The installation 6 weeks later went very smoothly; the crew was outstanding and everything was explained very well. I believe that most of Boyland's work involves generators and they really know this business very well.

Dissatisfied with a previous generator maintenance company, I tried Boyland. Night and day. The technician was polite, personable, conscientious, thorough, cleaned the generator cabinet, leveled it. My maintenance contract is cheaper and the service superior. I'm a convert.

I hired them to provide maintenance on my back-up generator. They were referred by the installer who did not provide regular service. I trusted the recommendation but later determined that they should have asked how often I needed the generator and offered service accordingly. In my case, they came twice a year when I only needed one. Worse, they never came when they promised to come. I had to call several times. I have since changed companies.
