To make sure your heating and air-conditioning systems work when needed, they must be properly installed and maintained.
Our surveys of homeowners find that many area heating and air-conditioning services consistently provide high-quality work: Several companies were rated “superior” for “overall quality” by 90 percent or more of their surveyed customers. But this feedback from consumers also reveal that some customers get burned by shoddy service: some companies received “superior” overall ratings from only 65 percent or fewer of their surveyed customers.
Before hiring an HVAC service, carefully check online reviews for companies you consider and make sure nearly all ratings are positive.
Also check for recent complaints with the Better Business Bureau (BBB). Even a few complaints might indicate a company is unwilling to resolve disputes.
